Week Seven

Week Seven. This week we join Jarvis conducting operations with the Chinese Fisheries Law Enforcement Vessel Zhong Guo Zheng 202.

An HH-65 observes the rendesvouz at sea between the Chinese Fisheries Law Enforcement Vessel Zhong Guo Zheng 202 and CGC JARVIS. The JARVIS and Zhong Guo Zhen 202 are conducting cooperative enforcement efforts in the Western Pacific as partners of the North Pacific Heads of Coast Guard Agencies (NPHCGA). This joint effort is the first operational step in cooperative high seas management efforts between all 6 nations of the NPHCGA: Canada, China, Japan, Russia, and South Korea.   CGC JARVIS' over-the-horizon RHIB enroute a planning meeting with the Chinese Fisheries Law Enforcement Vessel Zhong Guo Zheng 202. The planning team will discuss joint operations in search of High Seas Driftnetters and establish the proof of concept for sharing information and conducting mutually supportive operations between the two nations in the future.

A team from CGC JARVIS consisting of LT Janczyk, PFC Lu, and Mr. Wang embark the Chinese Fisheries Law Enforcement (FLEC) vessel Zhong Guo Zheng 202 in the western Pacific. LT Janczyk is JARVIS Operations Officer. PFC Lu is a Chinese linguist from Schofield Barracks in Hawaii that has been onboard JARVIS since 10 May. Mr. Wang is a Chinese FLEC Officer who has been embarked on JARVIS since 22 June assisting in identification and communication with Chinese fishing vessels operating in the Western Pacific.   JARVIS boat crew members BM3 James Bruce and MK1 Robert Collins conducting personnel transfers between JARVIS and a visiting Chinese Fisheries Law Enforcement Vessel.

Each member takes turns teaching the class each week for training exercises.
