The Virtual Reunion Hall Our new Reunion
Hall can best be described as a building with sixteen decks (Districts, Headquarters,
Cutters, Special Groups, etc) with a room for each unit (over fourteen hundred
rooms), each room has ten tables - Year Groups [40s, 50s, 60s, etc]) - and a Chat
Table for chit-chat between shipmates. I have tried to include every CG Unit both past
and present. If you don't see the unit you are looking for,
email me. You may be seated and leave comments on any or all your past units. You will
also be able to see who else is seated at your table. Its a great place to find old
shipmates.

The Scuttlebutt Morning News
Tired of listening to rumors? Our Scuttlebutt Morning News or Straight Scoop
page does away with rumors. Articles of interest to you are posted daily. The
Editor-in-Chief, Barb Chiles, posts so many
articles and wants the news to be fresh - so articles remain on the Scuttlebutt Morning
News Page for approximately one week. By the way, if you should come across any
interesting articles pass them to Barb and she'll post em! If you have any questions,
suggestions or comments, contact Barb.

The Bulletin Board
Ah, the Bulletin Board. Lost touch with an old
friend? Then you need the Bulletin Board. All bulletins are
kept on-line for at least 30 days. You can even look back to all
the old bulletins.
Click here for the Bulletin Board.
Post A Bulletin
Select the Post A Bulletin Button on the Bulletin Board
page to post a message. I have had to impose three rules
regarding the Bulletin Board: (1) The Bulletin Board is
for registered users of Fred's Place only. (2) Please
refrain from posting commercial, for sale, employment opportunities, or real estate ads on the
Bulletin Board. And (3) please don't post the "I was
station here and there and am looking for anyone who
remembers me" type of bulletin.

Who We Are and What We do.
Over the past few years, we have collected, produced and published selected video
clips and photo essays of Coastguardsmen in a wide variety of situations sharing
aspects of their daliy life. See them, on the job, after
hours, afloat, ashore, in the air, on duty, off duty, at work and at play.
What's it like to stand a 'Bear Watch' while breaking ice in the Artic, catching the
bad guys on a Counter-Narcotics Patrol, sailing on the EAGLE, setting a buoy, or rescuing
victims following a disaster?
Grab your favorite beverage, sit back and enjoy our vast collection of photo essays & videos.
Click here to see "Who We Are and What We Do".
Photo Album & Group Photos.
Looking for a Unit photograph, patch, or lighter? We probably have what you're
looking for. We have over 10,000 images for your enjoyment. Do you have a photo
you would like to share? Yes, you can easily upload your photos to our online
Photo Album too.
Click here for our Photo Album.
Boot Camp & Service School Photos. We are collecting boot camp company and group
service school graduating photos. Dig through your old boxes and scan those old
photos then attach them to an email to me . A special section of our Photo Album
will be dedicated to these old group photos. Check out what we have thus far ...

Shipmates Onboard.
The number at the top of the Main Page is a running 'crew counter'. It immediately lets you know
how many shipmates can be found on the E-Mail Directory.
Who's Fred?
Just who is this guy, Fred? I have prepared a short bio that may
answer your questions as to who I am and why did I start Fred's
Place. Want to see an ugly mug shot? Click here to see
Who's Fred?
.
How To Find...
I am not a private investigator, I am a collector of e-mail
addresses. If you don't see an old shipmate listed on the E-Mail
Directory, chances are I don't know anything about the
individual. I have collected several resources available on the
internet to help you locate someone and have placed them all on
the
How To Find ... page.

Links of Interest.
This is a collection of links to other websites that are related
to the Coast Guard. It is here that you can find the Coastie
Links. The Coastie Links are links to our crewmembers that have
their own websites. Click here to see our
Links Page.
New Arrivals.
I know how difficult it is to scan the entire E-Mail Directory,
so this page is provided to help you keep track of who has
'reported aboard' in the past week. As long as you visit Fred's
Place at least once a week, you will be able to see when one of
your old shipmates reports aboard. Click here to see the
New Arrivals List
Plank Owners.
The first 100 crewmembers of Fred's Place were designated as
Plank Owners. Want to see who started it all? This is the list!

Announcements.
Here you will find Special Announcements of interest plus other tibits of information.
All postings are kept online for at least one month. Click here to see

How To Get The Most
Out Of Fred's Place
The first thing you probably want to do is find your old shipmates.
Go to the Reunion Hall
and find all of your past unit's. Post your comments on each unit
table and look to see who was aboard during your tour. You might recall an
old shipmate that you had completely forgoten about.
Scan through the E-Mail Directory.
See if you can find your old shipmates that may have already reported aboard
Fred's Place.
Still can't find that old friend? I have two more suggestions. Read the
How To Find...
page for other internet resources for finding people. Finally, you may
want to Post a Bulletin
on our Bulletin Board asking if anyone knows where "Johnny Whitehat" is.
Good Luck.
OK, how about finding some information? Want to read the latest
news wire stories about an ongoing case? If you're looking for the latest
news wire stories, safety notices, solicitations, a little humor
and maybe some political commentary - you just gotta visit our
Scuttlebutt Morning News Page.
This is where you'll find the straight scoop.
How about all those little tidbits of information, you know, stuff about
pay, travel, who to call for this and that? We have two great pages packed
with who to call, where to write, and how to find information.
Just visit our Frequently
Asked Questions or
Links Pages.
Looking for some entertainment? Fill up that glass or coffee mug,
kick back and join in on lively discussion groups in our
Discussion Boards. You can join in on the discussions of the
very popular Point-CounterPoint, or any of the other discussion
on History and Trivia, Old Salts, Movin On, Rating discussions, or
Servicewide Exams (SWE).
