Welcome to Fred's Place Greener Pastures Mutual Board. All mutual postings will remain online for approximately three months.

Mutuals involve two members who conform to the following:

Have completed a minimum of 6 months at their current assignment.

Same pay grade and rating.

Have a minimum of 1 year obligated service.

No NJP, unsat conduct, court martial or civil conviction in previous year.

No performance evaluation average lower than 3.

Favorable command endorsement.

Member incurs all cost.

Normally, members swap rotation dates.

It is a good idea to have your command approve you posting a request on the board.

Work with 2 other EM3s, an EM1, an EMCS and a civilian. Duty rotation is great. Stand Security 2-3 times/month. STM qual, similar to BTM. We wear civilian clothes on the jobsite. There are colleges (Columbia College) located on Coast Guard Island, it is easy to take classes here and get a degree. If you don’t want to do security there is Gym watch (not kidding) and EOW. There is single housing in Alameda and Concord has family housing. There is a government program to reimburse the cost of the public transportation or Van pools. I am an EM3 currently stationed on the USCGC Campbell, out of Portsmouth, NH. I'm looking to mutual to any land unit on the east coast, but will consider all land billets. The New England area is nice and the ship is only an hour drive to Boston, but it gets very cold in the winter.
